Youth Club Starting in Hollywood
All available Young Adults between 15 and 18 years are required to start this Club. There are already a number of trained leaders in place, so all we need is the Young Adults. Information meeting next Monday night, Nov 21st, at 7.30pm in the Hollywood Centre. Young Adults and Parents are requested to attend. This Club will be run by Young Adults for Young Adults.
Winter Wonderland-Donard
Once again this year Santa is making a return visit to the village of Donard. Last year, despite the snow, he was delighted that so many children came to visit him and hopes to see even more this year. Even though he comes to the Wicklow Hills for some rest before the big rush at Christmas he loves to take time out to meet lots of children and have a chat with them. The Winter Wonderland at Moat Farm, Donard will be open for 3 Sundays in December, the 4th, 11th and 18th from 2pm to 6pm. Santa will make a grand entrance each day in his special Santa mobile at 2pm. He will be available all afternoon to talk to the children. While waiting to see Santa there is lots to do and see including face painting and visiting the animals including one of Santa’s special reindeet. The adults wont get bored as there will be arts, crafts and food stalls, a good chance to pick up some presents while enjoying the atmosphere. Fresh Christmas Trees will also be available. Adults can relax beside a roaring fire and enjoy all that the Winter Wonderland experience has to offer. No bookings required and there is ample free car parking available. Admission aor children is 10 euro which includes a present from Santa and a family photo with the man himself will cost 5 euro, however you also welcome to bring your own camera to capture the moment. There is no admission charge for adults. All proceeds from the Winter Wonderland go to Donoughmore and Donard Parish and the community based Donard Glen Daycare. Crafts Wanted
Stalls are available in the Winter Wonderland in Donard for any crafts person wishing to find an outlet for their produce. Stalls are available for any or all of the days from 2 to 6pm, daily. Parish Retreat
There will be a Parish Retreat on 6th, 7th and 8th December. Further details will be announced in due time.
Proposed new Road
Don’t forget to send your reaction to the N.R.A. as soon as possible, on the proposed new N81, and if possible send a reasonable alternative.
Senior Citizens
The Hollywood Senior Citizens Christmas Party is on Wednesday 14th December at 3.30pm in the Hollywood Inn.
Christmas Raffle
Plans for the Parish Christmas Raffle and visit of Santa are presently underway. This will take place on Sunday December 3rd after 6pm Mass, in the Community Centre. Donations for the Hamper are welcome and can be given to Eileen Burke, Marie Tutty, Cepta Halpin, Lorna Tutty, Mary Harney or Celine Keeneghan.
Parish Office
The Parish Office is open from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday. The Christmas Stock has arrived, with stock including Christmas Mass Bouquets and Cards. All support for the Parish Office is very welcome.
Ballymore Hollywood Boxing Club
The local Boxing Club will be boxing against a Kildare/Wicklow selection in Ardenode Hotel on Saturday 19thNovember at 8pm. All are welcome to attend.
Bingo
Bingo in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday evening at 8.30pm. there are 2 Jackpots on offer each week as well as other great prized.
Bowls
Every Tuesday and Friday evening in the Hollywood Centre from 8 to 10pm. New members always welcome.
